In late June as the weather clears, allied bombers ground strike the German positions along the river but almost only in Paris are they successful. Eisenhower then coordinates the assault on the city (OC) and with hideous amounts of ground support and paradrops, the city is taken and France is liberated.
At the same time, British forces in Denmark supported by bombers, paratroopers, marines and shore bombardment successfully assault the fortress north of Kiel. Wavells forces in Albania also take the last Italian stronghold of Tirane. Italy is now completely conquered.
On the eastern front, things are not so bright for the allies. While the Germans do not advance, the Russians mostly seams concerned with getting themselves killed in low-odds assaults rather than killing Germans. Luftwaffe has a great time bombing the advancing Russians when they attack the German positions.
Retaliation comes from another direction. A lone US submarine manages to completely empty the China sea of Japanese CPs and Japanese CP reserves are looking awfully thin.
As so often is the case, it is the Chinese army which has to take a beating when Japan wants to loose some excess aggressions. The Communist forces north west of Si-An are killed without mercy in a heroic Japanese assault and as usual, the newspapers in Tokyo has a great victory to write about.
This turns primary US operation in the pacific is a major failure. An invasion in the mountains in NEI is intercepted by local militia which supported by Japanese battleships slaughter the invading US Marine corps.
